Life in Vellano

A wonderful community coming together

It's summertime in Vellano, northern Tuscany, Italy. Residents of the village organize numerous events, among which the "Pizza in the Piazza" : held in  the upper village's old square, this annual event gains the attention and the consensus of local residents and tourists. An authentic tuscan-style appetizer is followed by three or four slices of different pizzas, baked in a wood-fired oven by the special Trombino.  Wine, drinks, coffee and liqueur complete the menu. All the proceeds from the evening are used to fund maintenance work for the village.

On Top of the World
